چکیده

We report here on the analysis of γp → K * 0 Σ + reaction which has not been studied previously, because of its small cross section. The availability of the high intensity electron facility and the CEBAF Large Acceptance Spectrometer (CLAS) at JLab has made it possible to study this channel. Data were taken at 3.115 GeV electron beam energy using tagged photons incident upon a liquid hydrogen target. In addition to measuring differential cross sections for the above reaction, this analysis provides information about nucleon resonances and their couplings to vector mesons. Our data are the world's first data for this reaction and are expected to represent a good tool to test predictions of the K * production models, provide constraints on vector meson production models, and to better understand the vector meson reaction mechanism.

Photoproduction of the f1(1285)/η(1295) Mesons using CLAS at Jefferson Lab

This work presents the results of analysis of a meson of mass mx = 1281.0 ± 0.8 MeV/c and a FWHM of Γx = 18.4 ± 1.4 MeV/c seen in CLAS at Jefferson Lab in photoproduction off the proton, γp → xp. The f1(1285), η(1295) or both are candidates for this observed state. Neither of these states has previously been observed in photoproduction. The meson was measured in the decay modes x → ηπ+π−, K+K̄0π...

Ξ Spectroscopy in Photoproduction on a Proton Target at Jefferson Lab ∗

The CLAS Collaboration at Jefferson Lab conducted a photoproduction experiment on a proton target using a tagged photon beam with an energy range of 1.5-3.8 GeV during May-July 2004. With an integrated luminosity of about 75 pb −1 , this experiment provides the largest data set for photon-proton reactions ever collected. The reaction γp → K + K + Ξ − (1320) has been investigated and the prelimi...

Low-mass Proton-antiproton Enhancement: Belle and Bes Results, Premises of Lear and Expectations from Clas

We present a simple explanation for the recently observed nearthreshold proton-antiproton enhancement. It is described by a set of low-energy parameters deduced from the analysis of NN̄ experiments at LEAR. We predict a related effect in photoproduction reaction under study by CLAS collaboration.

As part of a broader study of kaon photoproduction on deuterium, the γn → K + Σ − channel was investigated. The data were acquired at Jefferson Lab using the CLAS detector and the Photon-Tagging Facility installed in Hall B. The photon energy range covered was from 0.50 to 2.95 GeV. For the present analysis, the γn → K + Σ − channel was identified by detecting the positive kaon in coincidence w...

The gluonic pole has been instrumental in explaining the mass of the η ′ and providing a plausible explanation for solving the spin crisis. We show that it also plays an important role in the description of the photoproduction of vector mesons at high momentum transfers at JLab energies. Recently the CLAS Collaboration at JLab has published new data on ρ-and φ-meson photoproduction at large mom...
